Ahead of next week's hotly anticipated return of Supergirl following the superhero series’ weeks-long winter hiatus, The CW has unleashed our first official look at Mon-El (Chris Wood) suited-up in his Legion of Super-Heroes outfit. But he's not the only one suiting up.

While we first got a brief peek at Mon-El’s suit in the latest Supergirl promo, this new image released by the network gives us an up-close-and-personal look at the Daxamite hero’s costume. While it looks pretty great, though a tad generic, it might could use a bit more color than standard black. However, notice the slight red shape of the House of El sigil on Mon-El’s suit? That’s a subtle nod to the comic book character using the House of El sigil on his costume (although in the pages of DC Comics, this one’s in blue and not red).

And here's a close-up look at his Legion ring:

The new episode, titled “Legion of Super-Heroes," will see Mon-El enlist Brainiac-5 (Jesse Rath, Defiance) to try to bring Kara (Melissa Benoist) out of her dreamlike state following her midseason finale showdown with Reign (Odette Annable). Which left her severely injured and pretty much near death.

While the Girl of Steel is out of commission, Reign continues her rampage in National City, which prompts the DEO to team-up with a few Legion of Super-Heroes members — Mon-El, Saturn Girl (Amy Jackson), and Brainiac-5 — to try and take her down. In the batch of pics below, we also get a very nice look at Imra Ardeen's Legion outfit.

Whatever happens on the next episode, it seems like we’re going to be in for a very entertaining ride. Especially with the Legion making it’s Arrowverse debut. Supergirl returns to The CW on Jan. 15.
