Do not try to resist.

SYFY WIRE has an exclusive first look at the new key art for George R.R. Martin's upcoming Nightflyers series, with a tag line that promises: "You Can't Escape What's Inside." So, that sounds... less than assuring. But no less intriguing!

Based on Martin's 1980 novella of the same name, Nightflyers is an Alien-meets-Event Horizon-meets-Sunshine sci-fi/horror thriller. In 2093, in hopes of making contact with mysterious alien life at the edge of our solar system, a group of scientists (along with a telepath) embark on an expedition aboard The Nightflyer. As they race toward first contact, terrifying and violent events begin to occur, causing the once tight-knit crew to mistrust each other. It's not long before their main mission becomes survival.

Martin also serves as an executive producer on the project, which is produced by Universal Cable Productions and co-produced by Netflix.

The series, adapted by Jeff Buhler from the novella for television, features Eoin Macken (The Night Shift), Sam Strike (EastEnders), Maya Eshet (Teen Wolf), Angus Sampson (Fargo), Jodie Turner-Smith (The Last Ship), Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire), David Ajala (Fast & Furious 6), and Brían F. O'Byrne (Million Dollar Baby).

Nightflyers debuts this fall on SYFY.
