Deadline reports Anne Heche (Aftermath) is in talks to join Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2) and Analeigh Tipton (Warm Bodies, Lucy) in Vestige, a sci-fi thriller about artificial intelligence written and directed by Stephon Stewart (Bigfoot County) and produced by Aaron Magnani (The Last Word).
Described as “Ex Machina meets Black Swan and Whiplash,” Vestige is set in a desolate future controlled by AI where Tipton plays a troubled Olympian figure skater who competes in the Winter Olympics against androids (okay, I’ll bite). Rourke is playing Tipton’s “demanding Coach” while Heche will play her eccentric mom. There’s no premiere date slated for the project yet.
According to Deadline, director Damien Chazelle's (La La Land) First Man has added Cory Michael Smith (Gotham) as Roger Chaffee, one of the Apollo program astronauts who died in a fire alongside Virgil “Gus” Grissom and Edward H. White II during a pre-launch test for the 1967 Apollo 1 mission, while Skyler Bible (In Time) will portray Richard Gordon, Armstrong’s (Gosling) backup pilot on Gemini 8 and the commanding officer of Apollo 12.
First Man also stars Corey Stoll (Ant-Man) as Buzz Aldrin, Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) as Deke Slayton, Jason Clarke (Terminator Genisys) as Edward Higgins White, Brian d’Arcy James (13 Reasons Why) as Joseph A. Walker, Claire Foy (The Crown) as Janet Shearon, Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) as Dave Scott, Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) as Jim Lovell, and Patrick Fugit (Outcast) as Elliott See. Written by Josh Singer (Spotlight), First Man will open on Oct. 12, 2018.
Neil Gaiman’s upcoming Good Omens six-part TV series has found its demon Beelzebub in Anna Maxwell Martin (The Bletchley Circle), as well as three of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, reports Deadline. Mireille Enos (World War Z), Lourdes Faberes (Knightfall), and Yusuf Gatewood (The Originals) will saddle up as War, Pollution, and Famine, respectively.
As for Death, Gaiman said, “We are hoping that Death will be played by Death.” Good Omens stars Michael Sheen as angel Arizaphale, David Tennant as demon Crowley, and Jon Hamm as the archangel Gabriel. Good Omens is on course for a 2019 premiere on Amazon Prime, followed by a UK premiere on BBC 2.
