Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for its upcoming action-comedy monster movie, Monster Trucks. And yep, the trailer is as completely bonkers as the title sounds. There are monsters. In the trucks.

We’re told that the movie makes use of “cutting edge visual effects and state-of-the-art CGI” in order to create a family-friendly movie, which is sort of refreshing if you’re growing tired of all those superhero movies. It looks like a ton of crazy, goofy fun that kids and adults can definitely enjoy if you don't take it too seriously.

Directed by Chris Wedge (Ice Age, Epic), Monster Trucks features a cast that includes X-Men: Apocalypse and future MacGyver star Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Barry Pepper, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Danny Glover, Thomas Lennon and Holt McCallany.

Derek Conolly (Jurassic World, Kong: Skull Island and Star Wars: Episode IX) penned the screenplay from a story by Jonathan Aibel (Kung Fu Panda), Glenn Berger (Kung Fu Panda) and Matthew Robinson (Black Box). Check it out:

Here’s an official movie synopsis:

Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend.

Monster Trucks will open in theaters on Jan. 13, 2017.
