Marvel has unleashed our first official look at the Royal Family of Attilan for the upcoming Inhumans TV series.

Based on the characters created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965 for Marvel Comics and featuring a race of “superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers,” the new Marvel TV show (a co-production among Marvel, IMAX and ABC) will “explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.”

And here they are in all their glory. From left to right we have: Gorgon (Eme Ikwuakor), Karnak (Ken Leung), Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Medusa (Serinda Swan), Crystal (Isabelle Cornish) and Maximus (Iwan Rheon).

Although not an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff per se, the show will be set in the same universe. “We all inhabit the same universe, so things that have happened on S.H.I.E.L.D. will potentially affect our show as well,” said showrunner Scott Buck in a lengthy interview with Entertainment Weekly.

And if you’re worrying about Medusa’s hair (which looks super flat in the official pic), Buck spoke about bringing the Inhuman Queen’s trademark prehensile hair to life via visual effects:

It is very difficult. Even now, it’s still a process. It takes quite a long time in post to make that effect work. We have some of the best visual effects people available working on our show. We still haven’t seen the final version of it; it’s very much a work in process.

Marvel’s Inhumans will premiere with the first two episodes to be shown exclusively in IMAX theaters for two weeks, starting on Sept. 1. The series will then debut on ABC in the fall with additional, exclusive network content. What do you think of our first look at Black Bolt and the rest of the Inhuman Royal Family?
