UPDATE: Alas, it seems this teaser trailer is acutally some viral marketing for the web series Junketeers. So, we'll just have to keep waiting for Roth's gory, deep space murder opus. Read our original report below:

Love him or hate him, Eli Roth has helped shape the modern horror landscape. Now, he’s taking that terror into space.

Roth has revealed a mysterious new project called Mission: Fear, and the director posted a teaser trailer to Twitter to help build some buzz. Sadly, the clip doesn’t feature any actual footage, but it does lay out the basics: It’s a horror movie, apparently set in space. Considering this is the guy who brought us Cabin Fever, Hostel and Cabin Fever (again, as a producer), you’d have to think whatever he’s cooking up — it’ll be gory.

Regardless of your opinion on Roth, it’s certainly exciting to see an original, straight-up space horror film in the works. True, R-rated horror in the genre is few and far between (and this being Roth, that R rating is almost a certainty). So, viva la chaos.

The film is set to arrive in April 2017, though we don’t actually know if it’ll be a theatrical release or VOD.

Check out the lo-fi teaser clip below and let us know what you think:
