First red band Alien: Covenant clip screams to be let out

We’re a little over two weeks away from the premiere of Alien: Covenant and a new red band clip from Ridley Scott’s Alien opus has emerged. And this one should fuel your nightmares.

Released by 20th Century Fox, the tense new clip shows Carmen Ejogo’s character Karine as she pleads to be let out of the room where a Xenomorph, or (and this is more likely) the film’s new Neomorph (see Exhibit A below), is about to burst out of that poor guy’s back. Brrrrr. I think this actually freaks me out more than the good old fashion chestbursters/Xenomorphs.

Since Amy Seimetz’s character is refusing to open the door, I have a feeling Karine won’t be long for this world. With friends like these … yeah. You know what I mean.

The movie also stars Michael Fassbender in the dual roles of androids David and Walter, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby and James Franco.

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant will open in movie theaters on May 19.
