We’re still a few months away from The Force Awakens, but the new Star Wars film Rogue One has already started filming — and here’s our first tantalizing peek.

The new spinoff film is set before the events of the original Star Wars trilogy and will follow the Rebel mission sent to steal the Death Star plans that play a key role in A New Hope. So what do the set pics reveal? We get to see a massive set piece of a crashed ship, plus some (seemingly?) dead stormtroopers floating in a nearby body of water. The ship is fairly torched, so it’s hard to tell exactly what make and model it is.

The cast of Rogue One includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed. Most of those folks will be playing the Rebel team sent to steal the plans. Apart from the logline, we don't know much else about the film's exact plot.

Check out the set pics below and let us know what you think:

Star Wars: Rogue One is set to open Dec. 16, 2016.
