The first trailer for Dead Rising: Watchtower is here, and it looks like a whole lotta bloody, gory, zombie fun. Adapted from Capcom’s popular Dead Rising videogame franchise, the upcoming flick will first air on Sony’s streaming service, Crackle, on March 27.
Dead Rising: Watchtower boasts the zombie prevention drug Zombrex, as it does in the videogame. Written by Tim Carter (Sleeping Dogs), the story follows a group of survivors fighting to survive in a zombie-infested town following the failure of a government vaccine to stop the infection. Sound a bit familiar? Yeah, it does. Sounds like every zombie movie and TV show out there. But what can one do when faced with a zombie apocalypse and some crazy psychos? Whip out some lethal weapons, and ask questions muuuuch later, that’s what.

The movie stars Rob Riggle (The Daily Show) in the role of photojournalist Frank West. Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die, Desperate Housewives), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Dennis Haysbert (Wreck-It Ralph, 24), Keegan Connor Tracy (Once Upon a Time) and Meghan Ory (Vampire High, Once Upon a Time, Intelligence) round out the cast.
Dead Rising: Watchtower will debut on Crackle — which is available for PlayStation and Xbox, as well as PC and mobile devices — on March 27.
