Fans of Are You Afraid of the Dark?, rejoice. A new spooky anthology series titled Creeped Out is coming to deliver some family scares this Halloween on the CBBC, and the first unsettling trailer has dropped.

Created by Bede Blake and Rob Butler (who are also the lead writers), the 13-episode anthology series is a co-production between CBBC Productions and DHX Media, with episodes filmed in the UK and Canada. Juliet Charlesworth (Happy Valley, Wolfblood) is producing the series, with Simon Barry (SYFY's Continuum, Van Helsing, Ghost Wars) acting as executive creative consultant.

Creeped Out will feature sci-fi, horror, adventure, suspense, fantasy, and mystery stories, with characters ranging from "enigmatic time travellers to macabre puppets." The standalone episodes will be linked together by a mysterious story collector called “The Curious,” whose appearance bookends each episode.

Apparently, Blake and Butler’s plan was to make Amazing Stories mixed in with The Twilight Zone for a young, modern audience. There's also a lot that fans of Are You Afraid of the Dark? — the iconic anthology series that aired on Nickelodeon in the 1990s, scaring kids with tales of horror, suspense, and fantasy, all told around a campfire — should love in Creeped Out. Check it out:

Creeped Out will premiere on CBBC (the BBC's kid's channel) on Halloween; no word yet on when it will air stateside. Let's cross our collective fingers and toes that we'll see this sooner rather than later.
