SYFY is tuning up its schedule for next season, and we finally have a first look at the Russo brothers’ adaptation of the acclaimed indie comic Deadly Class. As expected, things get a bit bloody.
The network has dropped the first trailer for Deadly Class, which is set in the 1980s at an elite private school populated by the children of the world’s biggest crime families. The curriculum is ruthless in more ways than one as a new student tries to navigate this violent, neon-soaked world. The trailer includes footage of the main cast and does a solid job of setting up the premise, with the shots interspersed with interviews from the Russos (Avengers: Infinity War) talking about what attracted them to the property and what sets Deadly Class apart.
The series stars Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Benjamin Wadsworth (Teen Wolf), Lana Condor (X-Men: Apocalypse), Maria Gabriela de Faria (Sitiados), Luke Tennie (Shock and Awe), Liam James (The Killing), and Michel Duval (Queen of the South).
Deadly Class is set to premiere in 2019.
The network has also dropped a fresh teaser for its upcoming George R.R. Martin adaptation Nightflyers, a sci-fi horror tale with shades of Alien and Event Horizon. The series is set in 2093 and tracks the crew of a ship sent to make contact with a mysterious alien force. This being a series based on a Martin book, things go haywire among the crew as the journey becomes a paranoid nightmare.
Nightflyers stars Eoin Macken (The Night Shift), Sam Strike (EastEnders), Maya Eshet (Teen Wolf), Angus Sampson (Fargo), Jodie Turner-Smith (The Last Ship), Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire), David Ajala (Fast & Furious 6), and Brían F. O'Byrne (Million Dollar Baby).
Nightflyers is set to join SYFY’s schedule this fall.
