Nickelodeon was a legit cultural force for a few years back in the 1990s, and dominated the kid-centric game show market. One such show you might remember: Legends of the Hidden Temple. Well, the ‘90s have never been more fashionable, y’all.
The network has unveiled the first trailer for a TV movie revival of the game show, which follows siblings Sadie, Noah and Dudley as they try to escape the hidden temple and prove to everyone that the legend is real. The film will star Isabela Moner and original host Kirk Fogg (woot woot). The trailer looks like a wacky, family-friendly action adventure romp, and could certainly hit that sweet spot of nostalgia and next-gen accessibility.
It’s easy to forget, but Nickelodeon has a wealth of IP just sitting on the shelf from the 1990s, and with projects like this (not to mention the upcoming big-screen Hey Arnold! film) it looks like they’re finally looking to capitalize.
Legends of the Hidden Temple is set to premiere this fall on Nickelodeon.
