Italian comic-book artist Francesco Francavilla just catapulted us into the New Year with this startlingly cool collection of posters entitled Batman 1972.   Each retro creation slings us back to the Swingin' Seventies with a gritty urban flair and ethnic-infused swagger, including a pimped-out Riddler, a sexy psychedelic Catwoman and one badass Olds 442 Batmobile makeover.

Winning the 2012 Eisner Award for Best Cover Artist, Francavilla is best known for his creator-owned The Black Beetle comic, a stunning collection of pulpy Flash Gordon covers for Dynamite and whacked work on Detective Comics with Scott Snyder.  This amazing new poster series is another sweet gem in his dazzling crown.  Check 'em out!
