The Floating Dead: A Walking Dead-themed cruise is coming next year

The Walking Dead has been reigning as cable's biggest show for some time now, and as a result fans can get pretty much anything they want with The Walking Dead brand slapped on it. There are the usual toys, t-shirts and posters, of course, but there's also drinkware, board games, pens, lighters, bags, and even a lamp made out of a rotting zombie hand. Now the show's tireless merchandising arm is trying something else, and it's big: In January 2016, a Walking Dead themed cruise will arrive.

Dubbed the "Walker Stalker Cruise," the event is a joint venture of Norwegian Cruise Lines, marketer Sixthman and Walker Stalker Con, and will take place over three days in January onboard the Norwegian Pearl cruise ship. About 2,200 guests will sail from Miami to the Bahamas, all the while enjoying games, costume contests, themed events, concerts, zombie makeup applications and, perhaps most enticing, panels, autograph sessions and photo ops with several stars of the show. Cast members who are already committed to the cruise include Norman Reedus (Daryl), Emily Kinney (Beth), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese) and more, with the potential for even more names to be added in the months leading up to the event.

The cruise is already accepting pre-sale bookings, and offering a lithograph signed by Reedus to the first 1,000 people who sign up. So if you really love The Walking Dead, and you'd really like to head somewhere tropical for a few days in the dead (get it?) of next winter, check out the video below, then head over to the cruise's official website for more details.
