AMC has just announced that it would air a live after-show following the season premiere and finale episodes of its upcoming Preacher series. Titled Talking Preacher and hosted by Talking Dead's Chris Hardwick, the hour-long talk show will feature cast members, creators, producers and celebrity fans chatting about the supernatural series.
I guess it’s to celebrate the news that Hardwick posted this very stylistic trailer on his Instagram page, which kinda reminds me of the cool promos released by Netflix for Marvel's Jessica Jones.
Created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the series is a live-action adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s ultra-violent Preacher Vertigo comic books. And you can have a nice little hint at just how dark that series will be with Dominic Cooper bashing someone's head in on a jukebox. Also: Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy FTW!
Here’s the show synopsis:
Based on the popular, cult comic book franchise of the same name, Preacher” is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
Debuting on May 22 with a 90-minute premiere at 10 p.m., Preacher stars Dominic Cooper, Ruth Nega, Joseph Gilgun, Ian Colletti, Lucy Griffiths, Elizabeth Perkins, Jackie Earle Hayley, W. Earl Brown, Anatol Yusef, Tom Brooke, Jamie Anne Allman and Derek Wilson. Will you be tuning in?
