The gothic drama Penny Dreadful had been one of the coolest shows on TV the past few years, and the producers decided to wrap it up with a surprise ending many fans expected to be a season finale. Not a series finale.

But if you’re been dying to see what would’ve been next if the show had continued, the producers are finally coming through with a continuation. It’s not another season, but it’s as close as you’re going to get. Bleeding Cool reports Titan Comics has officially announced a new Penny Dreadful series that will be set after the events of the series finale.

Here’s the synopsis for the series:

Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) finds himself unable to move on. As he searches desperately for meaning in a world without Vanessa, ancient words echo across the centuries, and he is called on once again to take up arms against the creatures crawling out of the night.

Even better? The comic is being written by Penny Dreadful co-executive producer Chris King, with art by Jesús Hervás. So yeah, it’s actually the show’s original creative minds crafting the continuation. The show's three seasons built a fascinating, compelling world — and though they ended the series on their own terms — it's great to see fans will have something to follow along with if they're looking for more.
