Former Game of Thrones actor Ed Skrein (who played Daario Naharis in the third season of the series) has finally revealed that he is playing Ajax in Deadpool. The role was actually confirmed by the Transporter Refueled actor himself earlier today via his Twitter account. Some believed Skrein would be playing Weapon X (aka Garrison Kane), because Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld actively teased the character’s involvement in the upcoming comic-book movie. But now it looks like that particular role may be up for grabs. Check out Skrein’s Twitter pic:

In the Marvel comics, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) first encountered Ajax when the two of them were in the Weapon X program, the same program in which Wolverine received his adamantium claws. Ajax, who was also known as Francis, was left a little bit cray-cray in the head because of some pretty substantial experimentation that was done to him -- he had his nerves removed to better deal with pain, and would later have enhanced strength and “intuitive capability.” He also received implants beneath the skin for super-speed and agility. He was an enforcer at the laboratory of Dr. Killbrew, a sadistic scientist who experimented on Wilson. Ajax and Wilson DID NOT go along (and I’m putting this mildly). Ajax demanded respect from Wilson, or else. Later, after escaping the Weapon X program, he would go on a killing spree, trying to murder all those involved in the program ... which list, of course, included Deadpool.

Deadpool will open in theaters on Feb. 12, 2016. What do you think about Ed Skrein in the role of Ajax?
