Marvel's at it again. The studio's leaked one of its famous shortlists for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. Eight actors are battling it out for the lead role in the superhero movie, and the frontrunners include a former X-Man, two TV actors and several up-and-comers.

According to Deadline, Marvel is setting up screentests for Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord. He's the half-human, half-alien leader of the Guardians. Thus far, the studio's candidates include Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas), Lee Pace (The Hobbit) and Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables).

Other actors whose names are being thrown are James Marsden, who's best known as Scott Summers/Cyclops in the X-Men trilogy. Hey, if Chris Evans can be the Human Torch and Captain America, Marsden can double-dip, too!

There's also Tron: Legacy's Garrett Hedlund, who's no stranger to the Marvel casting process. He was also in the running for Captain America before Evans made a deal. Rounding out the list is Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton, who currently stars on Cinemax's Strike Back.

Marvel's got its work cut out for it. Each actor could bring something totally different to Star-Lord. Who would you pick to lead the team?
