Apple TV+'s ambitious adaptation of Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy is finally giving fans a glimpse at what they can expect from the David S. Goyer-run series. The sci-fi tale of the space-spanning Galactic Empire and the Foundation of engineers preparing for its demise is one long in the making — and one attempted by countless studios and writers.

Now the 10-episode series, starring Lee Pace (Brother Day) and Jared Harris (Hari Seldon, the leader of the Foundation), has its first teaser. Surprising fans at WWDC20, Apple revealed some stellar first footage. It's really happening. The galaxy may be saved after all.

Check it out:

"The empire will fall, order will vanish, there's massive events rushing to meet us," says Harris' character as an impressive array of sci-fi elements montage around him. Things are escalating quickly for these outer-space denizens, and Apple showed off plenty of effects and behind-the-scenes goodies to get fans amped. Goyer himself talks about the long galactic march it's taken to get this story to the screen.

Harris and Lee Pace are joined by Lou Llobell as Gaal, Leah Harvey as Salvor, Laura Birn as Demerzel, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk, and Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn. With a pilot directed by Rupert Sanders, Foundation will adapt the Asimov novel of the same name as well as its sequels, Foundation and Empire and Second Foundation.

Foundation hits Apple TV+ in 2021.
