The Gotham Police Department is about to get a little bigger. It turns out those rumors from a few weeks ago are true, and Fox’s Batman prequel has found its Detective Harvey Bullock.

There have been rumblings that Donal Logue (Terriers) would have a major role in Gotham, and now Fox has confirmed he will play the sometimes-dirty detective who has had a major role in the Batman comic canon for decades as a sometimes-corrupt member of Gotham PD.

Logue’s version of Bullock is described as “rough around the edges,” though he will apparently serve as a partner and mentor to Ben McKenzie’s Jim Gordon. Much like his comic-book counterpart, Logue’s Bullock will “play loose with police procedure, but he gets results ... and he does it with old-school, forceful panache.” Sounds like a good fit.

As for the selection? Logue has the perfect look for Harvey Bullock, and his gray-area role in Terries has us confident he’ll be a fantastic addition to this DC-inspired series. He joins McKenzie’s Gordon, Sean Pertwee’s Alfred Pennyworth, Zabryna Guevara’s Captain Essen, Erin Richards’s Barbara Kean and Robin Lord Taylor’s Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin on the cast list.

What do you think? Is Logue a good addition?
