The Exorcist finally returns for a devilishly anticipated second season in a few short days, and to whet our appetite for Fox’s horrorfest, the network has unleashed a first look at Season 2.

The video features insightful interviews with showrunner Jeremy Slater and stars Ben Daniels, Alfonso Herrera, and Star Trek’s John Cho as they dig into their characters and chat about what viewers can expect from the show’s sophomore season. The sneak peek also offers a new look at Father Tomas (Herrera) and ex-Father Marcus (Daniels) as they hit the road and head to a secluded island off the coast of Seattle to deal with a new possession case.

According to Slater, Season 2 will build on what the first season brought to the table in terms of horror and give us more of what we loved in Season 1. Not only that, but the show will also feature “new types of horror scenes.” Here’s what he said:

“It’s not just a simple horror story of priests fighting demons. It’s about so much more. You’re gonna see new types of horror scenes. You’re gonna see scenes so scary that we’re still not quite sure how we’re gonna get them on network TV. You’re gonna see a number of twists and turns and surprises. You’re going to get more of everything that makes The Exorcist great.”

The Exorcist returns on Sept. 29. Check out the new sneak peek and let us know if you'll need (or not) the power of Christ to compel you to watch Season 2.
