Jason Voorhees is dead. Yes, we know. How many times have we we heard that before? But this time, his death might be for real.
Because all work on the sequel to last year's Friday the 13th reboot—which was to be shot in 3D—has been stopped, Bloody Disgusting reported.
Word got out when producer Brad Fuller was asked yesterday via his Twitter feed, "Hows the F13 sequel coming along?" To which Fuller replied, "it is dead- not happening."
He's still up for the project if New Line Cinema and Warner Brothers are, though, because in answer to a further question, he responded, "its not my call- i would drop everything and make it today if they wanted it."
The sequel to the 2009 redo—which took in $40 million during its opening weekend—was going to be shot in 3D and feature the return of Derek Mears as the new Jason Voorhees.
What do you think? Have we finally seen the last of Jason?
