With the fate of Fox's Fringe still up in the air, the cast recently opened up about just how prepared they are if the current fourth season turns out to be the last. The most interesting tidbit? They've apparently shot two potential endings, depending on whether the series gets a last-minute pickup.

John Noble (Walter Bishop) told TV Line they have two potential final scenes in the bag, which will either wrap up the current storylines or leave one more thread open for another season.

The big questions will be answered, Noble said, including Olivia's fated "death" and baddie David Robert Jones' role in all this.

"[Jones plays] a very big part, but not as big as you think," Noble said. "There's something bigger."

As for a potential fifth season? Joshua Jackson (Peter Bishop) said the writers are leaving one more door open that could make for an intriguing final chapter.

"The writers have given themselves a device by which we can tell a fifth-season story without having to leave this season's story open," he said. "The door to the fifth season is opened in Episode 19 (airing April 20)," Jackson teased. "If you watch that, you'll have an understanding of where they want to take the series."

At the moment, we don't know what that direction may be, but Fox describes episode 19 as being set in the year 2036, featuring a battle between the Fringe team and the Observers.

So, yeah, that sounds pretty awesome.
