After teasing his addition during San Diego Comic-Con, the role of Richard Dragon in Season 6 of Arrow has been cast. Genre stalwart Kirk Acevedo will play the role, but under the moniker Ricardo Diaz.

Unlike in the comic book, Diaz won't be a costumed villain. According to Deadline, "A hardened ex-con recently released from prison for crimes he didn’t commit, Ricardo Diaz (Acevedo) is bent on taking over Star City’s criminal underworld. A master in hand to hand combat, honed by years of life on the street, Diaz has yet to meet a foe he can’t take down." Acevedo will be the main villain this season, and joins new cast members Michael Emerson (in a secret role) and David Nyki, who plays Anatoly Knyazev, of the Bratva.

Acevedo is no stranger to superhero and scifi projects. Previously, he has starred in Fringe and 12 Monkeys, with recurring roles on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Walking Dead.

Arrow returns to The CW for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12.
