After an onslaught of freaky mini-teasers, the first full-length trailer for America Horror Story: Freak Show has finally arrived. Not surprisingly, it's pretty bizarre.
The trailer has a voyeuristic style to it as someone sneaks around the big tent and peeks inside at much of the main cast as they prepare for the show. The new season is set in 1952 and follows a carnival sideshow in Florida, filled with freaky characters and many of the classic tropes we know and love.
To get a taste of what creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are cooking up, here’s the official synopsis:
American Horror Story: Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.
The cast for this season of the horror anthology might just be the most expansive yet, with a ton of new and returning faces. Jessica Lange stars as a German expat managing one of the last remaining freak shows in the country, which includes weird and wild characters played by Emma Roberts, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Michael Chiklis, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Wes Bentley, John Carroll Lynch, Finn Wittrock, Jyoti Amge, Patti LaBelle and Matt Bomer. We told you it was big.
