Our summer schedule just keeps growing. This week, Futurama joined the ranks of the shows we're watching, though it didn't do too well in its first week out. Meanwhile, True Blood stayed strong, Falling Skies dropped, and Lost Girl and Eureka both got boosts.
Check out our chart and commentary for more on how your favorite shows are doing in Live + Same Day viewers and rating.
We now have word that we won't be seeing any more of Alcatraz. Neither of Fox's Monday-night genre dramas survived the season, which might explain why no new genre shows made the cut for the 2012-2013 season on this network.
Being Human (Syfy)—SEASON ENDED
Being Human closed out its second season with lower numbers than its first, but its performance this year was enough to earn it a third go-round from Syfy. We'll see it next year.
Lost Girl (Syfy)1.28 million viewers/0.5
After a rather large drop last week, Lost Girl bounced back this week to numbers much closer to its average. We'll see if any more big dips are in its future.
Terra Nova (FOX)—CANCELED
Terra Nova is officially extinct. Netflix backed out and the cast is moving on to other gigs. It was fun while it lasted.
Eureka (Syfy)1.59 million viewers/0.5
Eureka also bounced back after a drop last week, though it's not quite where it was two weeks ago. Still, the show is proving mostly consistent in its final season.
Teen Wolf (MTV)1.69 million viewers/0.7
Teen Wolf broke even in rating score this week but lost a few viewers. So far season two is proving a bit weaker than season one, but the show's not struggling that much just yet.
The River (ABC)—CANCELED
The River is officially over. Low numbers doomed this one early.
American Horror Story (FX)—SEASON ENDED
No worries for American Horror Story. Season two is on the way, and all we have to do is wait.
Futurama (Comedy Central)1.65 million viewers/0.8
Futurama debuted its seventh season to low but not terrible numbers Wednesday, starting a good bit lower than the 2.6 million viewers the show was averaging last season. It's too early to write this show off, but we'll watch the rest of the season carefully.
The Big Bang Theory (CBS)—SEASON ENDED
The Big Bang Theory had a great year, setting new series viewership and rating records more than once. Now we just wait for season six.
Person of Interest (CBS)—SEASON ENDED
Person of Interest had a very impressive first season overall, even if it did drop a bit in the final weeks. We'll see it again in the fall.
The Vampire Diaries (CW)—SEASON ENDED
The Vampire Diaries is done for the season. This year wasn't quite as successful as the last, but it was enough to merit renewal. We'll see it again in the fall.
The Secret Circle (CW)—CANCELED
The Secret Circle made it a full season on The CW, but that's all it gets.
Awake is done. Despite critical acclaim and a not-bad premiere night, it couldn't hold on to viewers.
Touch (FOX)—SEASON ENDED
Touch ended its season on a low note, but it's still got a second year on the way. We'll see what comes next.
Saving Hope (NBC)2.69 million viewers/0.5/2 share
Saving Hope took a hefty dive this week, plunging below 3 million viewers for the first time. It did go up against the final game of the NBA Finals, though, so we can't completely blame the show.
Tron: Uprising (DISNEY XD)0.54 million viewers/0.1
After a hard dive last week, Tron: Uprising bounced back to numbers roughly equal to its Disney XD premiere two weeks ago. Those numbers still aren't on par with some of the more successful shows on Disney XD, but they're not bad.
A Gifted Man (CBS)—CANCELED
A Gifted Man is over. After months of speculation that it wouldn't survive, CBS pulled the plug.
Chuck (NBC)—SERIES ENDED
Chuck signed off for the last time, and we'll miss it. It wasn't a ratings-heavy program, but boy was it fun.
Fringe (FOX)—SEASON ENDED
Fringe won a fifth and final season after a long and often troubling fourth year on the air. Now all we have to do is sit back and wait for the conclusion.
Grimm (NBC)——SEASON ENDED
Grimm had a good first-year run. We'll see it again in the fall.
Supernatural (CW)——SEASON ENDED
Supernatural bowed out for the year last week. Season eight is on the way.
Clone Wars (TOON)—SEASON ENDED
Clone Wars ended on a high note. Season five returns later this year.
We now have word that the fourth season of Sanctuary was the final. Four seasons is definitely a respectable run, but we'll still miss it.
Merlin (Syfy)—SEASON ENDED
No more Merlin until season five, but the show had a good year on this side of the pond.
Spartacus: Vengeance (Starz)—SEASON ENDED
Spartacus is done for the year, but it had a good season. Here's hoping Starz thinks it was good enough for another year of gladiatorial awesomeness.
The Walking Dead (AMC)—SEASON ENDED
The Walking Dead ended its second season by shattering cable ratings records yet again. Now we wait to see if season three will be just as big.
Once Upon a Time (ABC)—SEASON ENDED
Once Upon a Time had a great first year on Sunday nights. Season two is on the way.
Game of Thrones (HBO)—SEASON ENDED
Game of Thrones went out with huge finale numbers. Now we just wait for season three.
True Blood (HBO)4.66 million viewers/2.6
True Blood picked up a few viewers but broke even in its rating. It was enough to keep the show at the top of the Sunday night cable rankings, though, and unless something changes it'll probably stay that way for much of the summer.
Falling Skies (TNT)3.8 million viewers/1.3
Falling Skies suffered a substantial drop in both viewers and rating in the second week of its second season. It's still one of the top shows of Sunday night, but a dip like this so early in the season isn't encouraging. We'll see if it can bounce back.
