Earth? Mars? The Belt? The Expanse is coming back with a second season, and to whet our appetite for the show's highly anticipated return, Syfy has unleashed a new trailer urging us to pick a side.

Set 200 years into a future where humans have colonized the solar system, The Expanse is based on the series of books penned by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck under the nom de plume of James S.A. Corey. Syfy's ambitious space opera series hit it out of the park in its freshman year and became one of my favorite new series of 2015-2016, with my personal favorite episode being "CQB" (Episode 4).

Season 2 picks up where we left off with an episode order upped from 10 to 13 (YAY!). The solar system is poised on the brink of interplanetary war, the threat of the alien protomolecule is looming ever closer and the crew of the Rocinante is still stuck smack dab in the middle of, well ... everything.

Oh, and we're finally heading to Mars, where we'll get to meet one of the books' most popular characters in MMC's Gunnery Sergeant Bobbie Draper, played by New Zealand actress Frankie Adams. From the look of things, I'm sure she'll also become a series fan favorite as well.

The Expanse returns with a double episode on Syfy and Space on Feb. 1. Which side will you pick?
