The future is in desperate need of saving in new trailer for Legends of Tomorrow

With the epic Flash and Arrow spinoff series Legends of Tomorrow set to debut in just over a month, the network has dropped a new trailer bursting with fresh footage. Turns out the future of the DC universe is not looking good.

The trailer focuses on the future, or lack thereof, and how immortal baddie Vandal Savage has pretty much wrecked the world. Of course, not all is lost, as time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter heads back to our present in an effort to assemble a motley team of heroes and villains to take on Savage.

We get a nice new look at Hunter’s spaceship, as well as some (seemingly) big-budget post-apocalyptic shots. Yeah, we definitely believe those scattered reports that Legends might be one of the network’s most expensive projects to date. But man, does it look good. There’s also some new footage of the team in action, as well as a peek at Firestorm’s new suit and Hunter’s nifty laser gun/revolver/awesome weapon.

For those who watched the epic Flash/Arrow crossover earlier this week, we also get another peek at whatever the heck happened back in 1975, where the modern-day heroes found the first credible reference to Savage’s existence. The Flash has dabbled in time travel for a while now, but Legends is going all-in.
