Ryan Murphy is at it again! The man behind Nip/Tuck and Glee is moving into darker territory with FX's American Horror Story. A teaser promo is circulating on the Internet, and the show looks like a mix of The Addams Family, True Blood and Dark Shadows.

American Horror Story centers on the Harmon family, which consists of parents Ben and Vivien (Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton), teen daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga) and the many ghosts that live in their house. The family is haunted by its fair share of nasty demons, whose sole purpose is to torture them.

From what we've heard from critics, American Horror Story sounds like the FX version of True Blood, thanks to its campy nature. Linda Holmes from NPR said, "It's very, very over-the-top, but I also found it wildly entertaining." Doesn't that sound True Blood-ish to you?

It's definitely an ambitious show, and we're interested in seeing if it will find a hardcore audience. They've already got the perfect headlining couple. Who can go wrong with Bobby from The Practice and Tami from Friday Night Lights? That's an awesome combination.

American Horror Story will debut Oct. 5 on FX.
