Ryan Reynolds' Merc With a Mouth is set to assault audiences in Deadpool 2 starting on June 1, but loyal fans will be able to get a head start on the sequel by snagging a copy of Marvel's new Domino comic series starting this spring.
Domino, the luck-manipulating mutant, will be played by Zazie Beetz in the feature and is an integral part of the plot for director Rob Leitch's Deadpool follow-up. Written by Gail Simone (Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman/Conan) and matched with cover art by Greg Land (Weapon X), this comic will be a hot product when it eventually hits in April, so make sure you add it to your pull list. At this time, no interior artist has been officially announced.
“My favorite characters are always the unpredictable ones, and with Domino, you literally never know which way the dice are going to roll,” Simone revealed in a Marvel press statement. “I love her, and I can’t wait to show her best bad side!”
Here's a peek at co-creator Rob Leifeld's first sketch of the character that first debuted back in 1991 with the foul-mouthed, chimichanga-munching Deadpool. There are some subtle changes in the mercenary's appearance, but the spirit of the character still shines through in the initial stills released by Marvel.
Marvel's Domino #1 stalks comic shops and online retailers on April 11.
