Game of Thrones fans keep asking Maisie Williams to put them on Arya’s kill list

We’re not saying there’s any reason to hasten the moment, but when it’s your time to go, there are probably worse ways to do it than to set your date for death with Arya Stark of Winterfell.

At least that’s what some Game of Thrones fans are apparently thinking. Maisie Williams recently got on The Graham Norton Show to talk about how she brings Stark’s gritty, vindictive persona to the screen, and revealed in the process that one of the common requests she gets from fans is to…put their names on Arya’s kill list?

If you’re new to GoT, we won’t explain enough to spoil anything. But just know that Williams’ character broods over exacting her revenge on those who’ve wronged her, and she does so by repeating and cherishing an ever-growing list of names of the people with whom she still has unfinished business. When Arya recites her list out loud, she calls that a prayer — if that tells you anything about her commitment.

Then, of course, she goes and takes care of business — in deliciously table-turning and triumphant ways.

Yep: Plenty of fans consider it a high honor to hear their name added to the hit list of the woman who’s elevated vengeance beyond mere payback and into a sort of personal religion.

“A lot of people come up to me in the street, and they want me to recite the names…but then — add their name?” Williams divulged with an incredulous-sounding lilt, before gamely proving she could recite the actual list from memory, on demand, for Norton and his guests.

Sadly, it’ll still be a while before we get to see how Arya carries out her next kill. HBO recently confirmed Game of Thrones won’t be returning for its eighth and final season until 2019.
