Excited about the upcoming fourth season of Game of Thrones? How about some "dark wings, dark words" to whet your appetite?
While season four of HBO's hit fantasy series is gearing up to be totally awesome – just check out the 15-minute behind-the-scenes video for a peek if you don’t believe us – things are gonna take a dark turn for a fan-favorite character.
So which character is going down a deep, dark path?
As should be no surprise to readers of the books, it’s none other than Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams and last seen traipsing around the countryside in the company of the Hound (Rory McCann) – not the best role model, if you ask us, but a freakingly awesome bodyguard – following the dark events of last season’s Red Wedding.
Here’s what Watch With Kristin's Spoiler Chat on E!Online reported when asked what we could expect from the newest season of Game of Thrones:
Ch-ch-changes, which you might not like! "Arya's really changing this year and I'm not sure people are going to like who she's becoming," Maisie Williams previews of the fan favorite Stark. "She's turning a lot darker and she's not quite as fun as she used to be...It's a different Arya than we've seen before."
Last season, Arya killed her first man (if you guys will recall, her first kill was in the very first season of the show but it was a boy, not a man. Distinction, people!), and those who’ve read George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire saga will know what’s in store for Arya following that event (which she kinda took rather well under the circumstances).
Remember Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) parting words to Arya when he gave her Needle? “Stick 'em with the pointy end?” Well, let’s just say Arya will have learned that lesson very, very well.
Are you guys at all surprised that Arya Stark is about to get darker? Are you as excited as we are about that storyline?
