The sweet sounds of the Seven Kingdoms are storming into a concert hall near you as the epic Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience kicks off its North American tour in February of 2017. Celebrating the stirring original music of composer Ramin Djawadi, this sonic spectacle will also combine a state-of-the-art digital projection system displaying footage from six Game of Thrones seasons in addition to new visuals created specifically for the event.  Djawadi will lead an 80-piece orchestra and choir in summoning memorable themes and melodies from the HBO fantasy series, accompanied by grand visual flourishes from the worlds of Westeros and Essos.

“For the past six seasons of Game of Thrones, I have been tremendously inspired to compose music to David Benioff’s and D.B. Weiss’ extraordinary adaption of George R.R. Martin’s epic ‘A Song of Fire and Ice’ series,” said Djawadi.”Now, by combining the music with state-of-the-art technology, we are going to bring the astonishing world of Westeros to fans in a live and unique concert experience.”

The show begins its massive 28-city tour on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, in Kansas City, Mo., and will march across the United States and Canada, performing at such legendary venues as Madison Square Garden in New York City, The Forum in Los Angeles as well as mega sports arenas in Vancouver, Montreal, Boston, Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Denver, Portland, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and more.

“For seven years, Ramin has been blowing our mind with his music’s force, subtlety, and endless inventiveness,” said Game of Thrones creators/executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. “The GoT Concert Experience will be unique in the history of concert tours, an eye-popping, ear-splitting, phantasmagoric blend of the show’s visuals and Ramin’s powerful compositions. We are more excited for it than anyone.”

I've attended the Star Wars Live and Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage concert roadshows in Portland, and to hear the familiar music generated by a full live orchestra paired with their respective visuals is a truly awesome experience. Tickets go on sale starting Saturday, Aug. 13, at Will you be absorbing The Rains of Castamere in symphonic bliss when the Game of Thrones concert tour hits your town?  No?  Shame!
