HBO has released a new video featurette giving us a look at the Game of Thrones costumes for Season 7 and unveiling snippets of tantalizing behind-the-scenes footage in the process. So, yay!
Titled “Inside Game of Thrones: A Story in Cloth,” the video sees Emmy-winning costume designer Michele Clapton talk about her journey as a designer and working on Game of Thrones, which boasts some of the best costumes seen on television today. Game of Thrones isn’t the only series Clapton won an award for; most recently she nabbed the BAFTA for Best Costume Design for Netflix’s The Crown (which is excellent, by the way).
Clapton also talked about how she loves working with the show’s four main female characters (Dany, Cersei, Arya and Sansa) and explains how costumes say something about each character’s story. Have a look at the HBO series’ sumptuous costumes in the video featurette below, and let us know what you think. Game of Thrones returns for a seven-episode seventh season on July 16.
