As part of Syfy 25 – where we’re looking back at everything amazing that’s happened in the world of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror over the last 25 years – we asked a bunch of famous people what sort of geeky stuff they like.
Here’s what Stella Maeve had to say.
A movie that desperately needs a remake is:
I'm not a fan of remakes usually; I enjoy original content. That being said, I would love to be in a remake of The Fifth Element.
The genre character I most admire and why:
Warrior Imperator Furiosa from Mad Max, and The Despot's five wives, because they are all badass, beautiful, powerful, female heroines.
A scene from a movie that scared the ever-living sh*t out of me was:
Poltergeist scared the living sh*t out of me, so did It, so did A Nightmare on Elm Street. I guess I'm scared pretty easily ...
The most underrated fantasy movie is
The Princess Bride! I feel like no one under the age of 27 has heard of it, and this saddens me.
The best Batman was:
I love Batman, I love all the Batman(s). But no one touches Bale. I mean, it's Christian Bale. He is the best.
The LOTR character I’d like to be is:
I love Lord of the Rings. Led Zeppelin has a whole album dedicated to LOTR. (My personal favorite is "Houses of the Holy" -- also their big hit "Ramble On.") I would probably be Gandalf, although I would take any role/part in those.
If I could time-travel I would:
I would go back to 1969 and see Woodstock.
People in fantasy tales are always British because:
That is the fantasy. To be British. All the best actors are.
