As part of SYFY 25 – where we’re looking back at everything amazing that’s happened in the world of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror over the last 25 years – we asked a bunch of famous people what sort of geeky stuff they like. Here’s what The Magicians' Summer Bishil had to say.

The one thing I geek out over the most is:
Vampires and zombies.

The first thing I remember geeking out over is:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The science fiction/fantasy creator I most respect is:
There are so many I respect, but what comes to mind are the creators of The Walking Dead.

My geeky guilty pleasure is:
My guilty pleasure is anything with vampires and romance. I'm a sucker for a good vampire love story.

The current state of science fiction:
Exciting as it's ever been! With so much progress in special effects!

The biggest genre game-changer of the last 25 years:
The Walking Dead for so many reasons, but mainly because it explores deeper character themes in a zombie apocalypse. Before The Walking Dead you never really saw the two done together.

The best quote from anyone in the genre, real or fictional, is:
"May the Force be with you."

The best genre movie of the last 25 years is:
I loved Passengers. I thought it was extremely well done and just overall super entertaining. It was such an original idea.

The best genre series of the last 25 years is:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The best genre book of the last 25 years is:
Harry Potter.

The best comic book or graphic novel of the last 25 years is:
The Walking Dead.

The best genre theme song is:
Star Trek, obviously!

A movie that desperately needs a remake is:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not because the original wasn't fantastic, but because it was!! Revival please!!

On the flipside, a movie that should never ever be remade is:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind because it was flawless and could and should never be remade! The worst thing is when an extraordinary movie is remade!

The genre character I love that no one else seems to pay attention to is:
Wynonna Earp. But people are paying attention, so I don't know if that answer counts! But more people should pay attention!

If I could live in any fictional universe or reality, it would be:
Anything Star Trek. Because duh.

A scene from a movie that scared the ever-living s**t out of me was:
The scene in Passengers when the main character realizes he woke up too soon on the ship and is completely alone! Terrifying!

The most underrated sci-fi/fantasy movie of all time:
Moon! Hands down!

The most overrated sci-fi/fantasy movie of all time is:
I don't want to say any one film is overrated because if people love something then they just do!

The fictional character with the best style is:
Eliot from The Magicians! Joke ... hmmmm ... nope, it's Eliot!

The best Batman was:
The Dark Knight.

The LOTR character I’d like to be is:

The LOTR character I’d actually be is:
Gollum! Joke again! I'd be Frodo.

If I could time-travel I would:
Stay put!!! Nothing good could come of time travel!

The most unforgivable insult in all of nerddom is:
Being told to stop being a nerd! Like, no! Just no!

If I could have one superpower, it would be:

Which superpower comes with the biggest drawbacks: flight, invisibility, or telekinesis?

If I were a hero, my sidekick would be:
Puss-in-Boots! From Shrek!

The Hogwarts sorting hat would put me in:

On a voyage through space, my captain would be:

If I could pick one genre vehicle, my ride would be:
The Batmobile.

People in fantasy tales are always British because:
The accent sounds cool.

In a fight between Dumbledore and Gandalf, who would win?

In a fight between Picard and Kirk, who would win?

In a fight between Wonder Woman and Superman, who would win?
Wonder Woman.

In a fight between Hulk and Thor, who would win?
The Hulk.

In six words or less, what words of wisdom do you have for fellow fans?
Let your nerd flag fly!
