As part of Syfy 25 – where we’re looking back at everything amazing that’s happened in the world of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror over the last 25 years – we asked a bunch of famous people what sort of geeky stuff they like.

Here’s what Ty Franck -- one half of James S.A. Corey (authors of The Expanse book series) -- and a writer/producer on The Expanse itself -- had to say.

The one thing I geek out over the most is:
Spaceships. I love a great spaceship.

The first thing I remember geeking out over is:
Star Wars, of course. I was 9 when it came out. Perfect age for it.

The science fiction/fantasy creator I most respect is:
I have a lot of writing heroes, and they tend to cycle around a bit, but I think Ursula K. LeGuin is the most consistent.

My geeky guilty pleasure is:
Supernatural. Love me some Supernatural.

The current state of science fiction in three words:
Space-Opera Ain't Dead.

The biggest genre game-changer of the last 25 years:
James Cameron. Yeah. Pretty much him.

The best quote from anyone in the genre, real or fictional, is:
"Get away from her, you bitch!" -- Ripley
