One of the best things that came out of Mad Max: Fury Road (aside from the fact that it was one of this summer's best movies, in my humble opinion) was Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa. She was such a fantastic, badass female character, and many fans were left wanting to see more of her in the upcoming sequels.
But what does director George Miller have in mind for her?
In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Miller revealed that Theron's Furiosa will only feature briefly in the two sequels the Mad Max helmer has planned. Well, that's a bit of a bummer. When asked about her, here’s what Miller said:
“I'm not sure, is the answer. She's not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there's an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. I can't really say more than that because it's still in progress.”
As for the final title of the Fury Road sequel, it may not be Mad Max: The Wasteland as was previously mentioned, after all.
“That name came out, that was just a working title. Nico Lathouris and I wrote deep backstories on all the characters and they eventually became screenplays - so we have two [more movies].
“I'm happy to say that there's discussions about them right now, but I hope the next film I make is a very small without any special effects and not many stunts.”
Are you disappointed that Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa won’t return in a starring role in the next two Mad Max: Fury Road sequels, or do you guys think it's the right play?
