One of the most ambitious space epics of the year is set to bow this December, and now we have a full-on flyby of the ship at the heart of The Expanse.

The series, coming to Syfy (Corporate owner of Blastr -Ed) later this year, is set hundreds of years in the future, in a world where mankind has colonized Mars and the outer asteroid belts. A big chunk of the story focuses on the crew of the ice freighter The Canterbury, which you can check out in excruciatingly cool details below. In the series, the massive freighter hauls ice from the moons of Saturn to the astroid belt, where it supplies water for settlers.

The network has put together a 3D VR experience fly around tour of the ship, where you can grab and pull around in full 360-degrees. It gets even cooler if you use the Expanse VR app. So, kick back and get acquainted with a ship we’ll be spending a whole lot of time on this winter.

Check it out below and let us know what you think:

The Expanse debuts this December on Syfy. The TV show is based on a series of novels by James S. A. Corey, aka authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck.
