If your thoughts on more Roger Rabbit are "P-p-p-please, Eddie," then you're in luck.

Even though Robert Zemeckis hasn't been able to make a film sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, that doesn't mean there's no more story left to enjoy. Quite the contrary.

The man responsible for the actual creation of Roger Rabbit, Gary K. Wolf, is still writing stories about Roger. And the latest one is about to be released.

Who Wacked Roger Rabbit? is actually the third Roger Rabbit novel that Wolf has released, but it gives us a great glimpse of what happens after the events of the movie. Here's the synopsis.

Hard-boiled gumshoe Eddie Valiant lands a plum job as Gary Cooper’s bodyguard while Coop scouts locations for his next movie—a screwball comedy titled Hi, Toon! But Eddie’s dream job quickly turns into a nightmare. The film’s being shot in Toontown, and Coop’s co-star turns out to be none other than Roger Rabbit. Eddie’s a big fan of Coop. Of Roger? Not so much.

A sinister hoodlum threatens to murder Coop if the movie gets made. Before long, Eddie, Coop, Roger, and the ever-glamorous Jessica Rabbit are embroiled in a mystery that could destroy Toontown. When Roger bites off more Toonish trouble than Eddie can swallow, the answer to the question Who Wacked Roger Rabbit? swiftly becomes no laughing matter.

That plot feels really similar in tone to the movie, but don't let that fool you -- Wolf's Roger is a little more adult than the movie version you remember. And why not? Chances are you were pretty young when that movie came out, so a more grown-up take might be exactly what you need.
