For a class project, a young Spanish-speaking student rounded up some classmates and decided to adapt Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's classic Batman story The Killing Joke—most famous for crippling Barbara Gordon—into a multimedia explosion of creativity.
Concocted by Oscar Andrés Rodriguez, Juan Miguel Zamarripa, Jesus Antonio Rodriguez and Hugo Jesus Ayala, La Broma Mortal is a wonderfully hand-crafted ode to story. Oh, it's all kinds of rough around the edges, but it somehow conveys the same sense of madness that Moore and Bolland got on the page.
As ComicsAlliance's resident Batmanologist Chris Sims said, "This is totally the way the Joker would relate these events to someone else. He'd probably even do so in Spanish, just because."
