In case Room 237 didn’t offer up enough chills, another documentary based on The Shining is here to take us even deeper in Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 tale of terror. Watch it now. For free.

Dubbed Staircases to Nowhere, this 55+ minute doc digs into the technical side of exactly what made the film so terrifying by speaking to nine people who worked on the film — plus Kubrick’s wife Christiane. The film is the only documentary to be endorsed by Warner Bros. and the Kubrick estate. So, yeah.

The film looks deeper into how the horror classic was made and includes some incredible insights into Kubrick’s process and his approach to adapting Stephen King’s novel. If you’ve been looking for a reason to dig out your old copy of The Shining, you could do a lot worse than this.

The entire film is available online below. Enjoy!
