Scary monsters and super freaks reign supreme in the upcoming seventh season of The Venture Bros., if the new trailer from San Diego Comic-Con is any indication.

That includes a diabolically possessed robot, spooky ghosts, a maniac in a bear costume, and maybe a sasquatch, all to the tune of David Bowie's "Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)." The trailer also promises romance, intrigue, and a frightening amount of blood.

Created by Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer, The Venture Bros. has been off the air since March 2016, and if you're having trouble keeping track of all the story threads, don't worry; speaking to SYFY WIRE at San Diego, Publick admitted, "There's no show bible! ... I watch the old episodes on Hulu when I want to check if we said something."

Season 6 of The Venture Bros. ended on a cliffhanger, and despite the show's somewhat loose relationship with continuity, the show's creators have promised to pick up where those threads left off. After that, it's really anyone's guess where the show might be heading, and if you think you can work it all out from the frantic trailer above, good luck to you!

The 10-episode seventh season of The Venture Bros. begins airing Aug. 5 on Adult Swim. Check out our interview with Publick below.
