Warner Bros. has let loose the second trailer for The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part and it looks just as good, if not better than the first movie. We know that's a big claim to make, but once you watch the new preview, you'll agree with us.
After the invasion of the toys from Planet Duplo, Bricksburg has turned into a post-apocalyptic dystopia. While everyone has turned into Mad Max-style savages, Emmett Brickowski (Chris Pratt) is still the happy-go-lucky Master Builder we got to know in the first film. His girlfriend, Wildstyle (Elizabeth Banks), tries to toughen him up, but is captured by Sweet Mayhem, a mysterious individual that wants to rule all that is LEGO.
As a result, Emmett sets out on an adventure to save Wildstyle, coming into contact with his opposite counterpart, Rex Dangervest (also voiced by Pratt), a spoof of Pratt's Jurassic World, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Magnificent Seven roles.
Watch the trailer (set to the Beastie Boys' "Intergalactic") below:
In addition to the returning voice cast of Will Arnett (Batman), Nick Offerman (Metal Beard), Charlie Day (Benny), Alison Brie (Unikitty), Channing Tatum (Superman), and Jonah Hill (Green Lantern), you've also got some new talent, like Tiffany Haddish (Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), and Stephanie Beatriz (Sweet Mayhem).
Produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (directors of the first), the sequel was written by Lord, Miller, Michelle Morgan (Middle of Nowhere), Dominic Russo (Workaholics), Matthew Fogel (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs), and Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman). Mike Mitchell (Shrek Forever After) and Trisha Gum (The Lego Batman Movie) handled directing duties.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part opens February 8, 2019.
