Next month, the best in 2018's video game achievements will be honored at the Game Awards, and a game you've been obsessed with this year is probably going to be among the winners.

The Game Awards announced their 2018 slate of nominees Tuesday, and if you've been following the most talked-about major game releases of the year you probably won't be too surprised by the major players at this year's awards.

Two massive releases tied for most nominations this time around, with the universally acclaimed God of War and the just-released Red Dead Redemption 2 both earning eight, including nods for Game of the Year. That's not a shock at all, as one is the best-reviewed game in years for a beloved franchise and the other is one of the most anticipated gaming sequels ever. Both were followed closely in the nominations race by Insomniac's acclaimed Spider-Man, which took seven nominations just months after it had its moment as the world's most talked-about game.

Spider-Man also snagged a Game of the Year nomination, alongside new franchise installments Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Monster Hunter: World and the only indie game to enter the category this year, Celeste. Over in the Best Ongoing Game category (meaning a game that continues to add content to evolve the gameplay), the nominees are Destiny 2, the internet's current favorite game FortniteNo Man's SkyOverwatch, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

You can check out the full list of nominees below. The Game Awards will be held on December 6 in Los Angeles, and will stream live via Twitter. Vote for your favorite games now over at the awards' website.
