PlayStation 4's new God of War game is one of the best-reviewed releases of the year, with its mixture of action, mythology, and parental storytelling winning over critics and fans alike. But it’s also launching at the same time as Avengers: Infinity War, which stars at least one god, a titan, and whatever Groot is. So you might not be surprised to learn there’s a connection between the two franchises. What you might be surprised by, though, is how specific these Easter eggs are.

While the axe-wielding protagonist Kratos can recall his weapon in a fashion directly inspired by Thor’s relationship with Mjolnir in the Marvel films (there's a lot of axe-throwing), you can complete a quest in the game to unlock another of the MCU’s weapons: the Infinity Gauntlet.

Okay, so it’s called the Shattered Gauntlet of the Ages in God of War, but we all know what they're talking about. That’s because, well, first, the description: “An ancient relic of Hel deemed too powerful to remain whole, fragments of its former strength lie scattered throughout the realms.”

Then, if you complete the Sindri’s Family Business quest, you’ll get the three-socketed glove, which you’ll find can be enchanted six different ways. Those ways, dug up by Reddit user moxxxxxi, are all directly tied to the Infinity Stones.

There’s Andvari’s Soul (Soul Stone), Njord’s Temporal Stone (Time Stone), Eye of the Outer Realm (Space Stone), Ivaldi’s Corrupted Mind (Mind Stone), Asgard’s Shard of Existence (Reality Stone), and Muspelheim Eye of Power (Power Stone). You can only use three of the stones at once, but even that is so powerful that players are wishing for more gameplay to flex moves like this:

You can’t quite snap your fingers, but this is the next closest thing you can get to playing as Thanos.

Have you played God of War yet? Did you wield the Shattered Gauntlet of the Ages? Let us know in the comments below!
