The star-studded cast of Godzilla vs. Kong, director Adam Wingard’s follow-up to the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters, finally made their debut on the film’s set and gave fans a hint of what to expect beyond the sequel’s light synopsis. The summary refers to the crypto-zoological agency Monarch, which deals with Godzilla, Mothra, and their ilk, running into a human conspiracy aimed to eradicate the likes of Kong and Godzilla forever.
Obviously they’re going to face some resistance. The question is, which side are stars Alexander Skarsgard and Eiza Gonzalez on? Per images that surfaced on Just Jared, the pair were photographed on set sporting matching jumpsuits, reportedly on a helicopter crash site set. Skarsgard is punching the ever-loving snot out of what looks to be an extra hired to be action fodder, so there seems to be some turmoil in the ranks... possibly of Monarch.
Check it out:
Is Skarsgard the rebel fighting against the conspiracy to wipe out the monsters? Is Gonzalez, pictured reaching for a gun or radio, on his side or calling the cavalry on the traitor? Audiences can only speculate for now, but at least we know that there’ll be plenty of human-sized drama when the monstrous combat ensues.
King of the Monsters hits theaters on May 31 of next year while Godzilla vs. Kong is scheduled for a year later on May 22, 2020.
