Washington-based Funko's master plan for world domination is alive and well with their latest addition to their increasingly expansive line of Pop! vinyl toys and collectibles, the characters of Mortal Kombat.
The fierce fighting game first broke out into the mainstream in 1992 for standup arcade machines, then migrated over to home platforms like Playstation, N64, and Saturn starting in 1996. Midway's premiere fantasy fighting amusement has evolved into a powerful $5 billion franchise of toys, video games, clothing, feature films, card games, animated specials, and even a crazy live-action arena tour.
Funko's first series of Mortal Kombat toys showcases Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Kitana, and Raiden, with one Sub-Zero chase variant tossed into the batch. Retailer exclusives include a Flaming Skull Scorpion for Hot Topic, Game Stop's over-sized 6″ Goro, and a cool Scorpion & Sub-Zero variant two-pack.
Get over here and check out the Mortal Kombat gang in the gallery below and tell us which ones will battle for your hard-earned bucks when they're finally unleashed by Funko in November.
