Gotham continues to stack its deck with the worst of the worst. Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Victor Fries, aka Mr. Freeze, would make an appearance. Now they're bringing on another highly intelligent yet highly unstable villain.

According to, Professor Hugo Strange is heading to Gotham. In the comics, he's known for his long and sordid history with the Caped Crusader. Strange will be played by veteran actor BD Wong, who's no stranger to playing smart men with shady intentions. He most recently appeared in Jurassic World as Dr. Henry Wu and USA's Mr. Robot as the mysterious White Rose.

True to character, Strange will appear as a psychiatrist hired to run Arkham Asylum. Fox says his character is more than meets the eye. He "appears altruistic but he harbors a dark secret." Whatever it is, it's so damaging it eventually turns him into "Gotham's greatest threat."

There will be a gradual buildup to showing what Strange is really capable of. Historically, the character's the first villain to figure out Batman's secret identity. He also predates some of the hero's biggest foes, including the Joker,  debuting in Detective Comics #36 (February 1940).

What do you think of BD Wong as Hugo Strange?
