Gotham exec reveals Harley Quinn may show up earlier than expected

There have been rumblings that an early version of Harley Quinn (like all the characters on the show) would pop up on Fox's Gotham at some point. Now, it looks like we'll get to see the beloved DC character earlier than we thought!

Since she was one of the main characters in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn arriving in Gotham's Gotham City was left up in the air. No one was really sure when she might be making her grand entrance on the series.

Now, following Jerome's (Cameron Monaghan) "return" on this week's episode of Gotham, executive producer John Stephens revealed that the future Joker’s future ladylove will likely be introduced during the Season 3 finale.  "We might see [her] in Episode 22," Stephens told TV Guide.

Can I have a Hell Yeah!!??

Not only is the Clown Prince of Crime’s girl set to make her villainous debut on Gotham, but it would appear that Harley’s appearance on the show will be the "launching point" for Season 4’s main plot, which has been described by Stephens as "crazy."

Since Harley Quinn was previously Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist who worked at Arkham Asylum, the term 'crazy' would certainly apply (that and the fact that comics Harley Quinn is crazy ... and so is Jerome). In any case, I'm curious to see if we’ll get to see a Jerome/Harley team-up anytime soon or if Gotham will keep them apart for a while before their first meet-cute.

What do you think?
